Led by teaching artist Cara London, these small-group classes offer hands-on drawing and painting in a supportive, welcoming environment. Students of all skill levels and abilities, ages 10–16, are encouraged to learn at their own pace and build confidence through creative expression.

How the sliding scale works
Our classes are priced on a sliding scale so that cost isn't what decides whether a young artist can join. Families choose the amount that fits their situation — no application, no paperwork, and no explanation needed.

What a class looks like
Each week Cara brings a hands-on drawing or painting project. Students are welcome to work on that, or to bring a project of their own they'd like to develop instead. Everyone works at their own pace, with all materials provided. The goal is confidence and creative expression, not a finished product by a certain date.

Cara London is a working artist who leads our youth art classes. She has taught drawing and painting to students of all ages and levels of experience — privately, and at Raritan Valley Community College, the duCret School of Art, and the Hunterdon Art Museum.

She holds an MFA from Parsons School of Design/New York Studio School and a BA in art history from Brandeis University, exhibits her paintings and prints regularly, and her work is held in private and public collections. She lives right here in Flemington.
